When they say-
God gave me a promise
We call this phenomenon pre-cognition.
Prophecy and telling the future is a difficult task. To be sure, almost impossible. So few can actually begin to do this well. But, we can catch glimpses; especially pertaining to details of our personal life.
There are many limiting factors preventing normal people from being able to use this particular gift of the spirit.
For most will dwell in the negative projections emanating from their deep personal wounds.
Fear is one of the two main negative influences on our life. The other being sadness of course.
Oftentimes a normal person will really hold on to a lot of fear and sadness throughout their life. It is stored in the body and will manifest as physical disease over time.
To achieve even the slightest victory in this domain, we must shed all fear and sadness completely and fully. Not an easy task. For this to occur, we must be cleaned and bathed spiritually from the emanations of God. Then and only then can we actually receive the “gifts of the spirit” or the “downloads from God”. These lessons from source can add a richness and a fullness to our life. They can also protect us from eminent danger.
The normal human experience is to dwell in the mixed reality of our brothers and sisters here on Earth. Co-mingling energy, emotions, habits, sins, sickness and desire. This heavy magnetic pull changes us and you could even say corrupts us into a fallen state. In effect, we lose who we truly are.
The end result of living in fear and sadness and regret are abundantly clear at this point. Just look around at the fallen world.
To see the future, one must completely shed their own fear and sadness and regret. All of it. Then and only then are we presented with the gifts of the Spirit.
Any attachment to desired outcomes must be discarded. This is a tough one. Perhaps impossible for most. We must truly let go and be open to anything. If we are not open, then we are shut. To hear God and learn from God, one must be open. This means that we cannot possibly know. Enter the child’s mind or the beginners mindset if you will.
So, to predict the future, we must actually disconnect from wanting to predict the future. We must disconnect with every single desire in our mind. Detachment is the big key here.
Detachment is fundamental for any kind of spiritual progression. It can be thought of as an active spiritual cleansing practice.
Seeing the future is really just a side effect of our own spiritual progress. In order to receive it, one must be worthy. It is a gift from God that is meant to help us, and never to hurt us.
So we can surmise that to truly tell the future is extremely difficult. Only in hindsight can we know what was accurate and what was false. When we find a person who can do this, we call them a prophet and they are seen as special. A very rare person with a special connection to God. A messenger with welcome news.
But, we must beware of false prophets of which there are many!
The bottom line is this. We really aren’t meant to know the future for the most part. It’s off limits for a reason. To gain access to this information, a testing of the spirit is necessary. And, it’s a constant day to day progression. It is not a one and done static event. It’s a fully immersive experience that is continually changing.
We all have the opportunity to develop our own unique gifts of the spirit.
Let me put it like this-
Would you rather scroll around looking for predictions from prophets?
Or, would you rather work on building your personal relationship with God?
The choice is yours each and every day!
May God bless you and your loved ones,
Monkey King
The number one reason I like this article so much is that it is not written in “Christianese”, as which most information on prophecy is written. I’ve been a Christian since 1980 and am now 71 years old, and I grew up as a Christian in a culture that highly valued the prophetic, yet most people I’ve known in that movement would be in that group chasing after prophetic people or wanting a word from someone. Only now am I see seeing more people who are wanting to pursue a contemplative lifestyle in seeking after knowing God more deeply, in pursing hearing God for themselves.
My husband is what I call a prophetic as he’s heard things from God that have come to pass, and usually accompanied by a numinous experience of the Presence of God. He had a powerful visitation from God in 1983 in which he sensed in a very profound and life-changing way that “Christianity was going to change its understanding of itself.”Since then been seeking after understanding what that means and he may have landed on the crux of the matter, maybe not. We’re in the midst of a change for sure. There are many more examples of his fulfilled prophecies, some quite current. All that to say that I believe a lot of what you spoke about in your article reflect that change. The holistic approach to interrelationship between spirit, soul and body. The therapeutic approach becoming more spiritual in nature, like the Eastern Orthodox Theosis. The centrality of transformation in our spiritual walk with Christ. Thank you for your honest and insightful discussion of these very pertinent topics, we need to hear more young, wise and indeed prophetic voices like yours at this crucial time in history.
Prophecy is in the bible for a reason and the book of Revelation says those who hear or read it will blessed
